The Pequegnat Clocks — Canadian Timekeepers

A Sampler of Clocks by Type

Tambour Clocks

The first tambour clocks (for example, the Guelph B, London B, Oxford, Sherbrooke and Sydney) appeared in the 1918 catalogue, and by 1928 more than a third of the non-floor models were tambour in shape. The London B (1975.0294) below has unusual supporting scrolls. Two tambour clocks that appeared first in the 1928 catalogue are the Supreme (1975.0307) and Swan (1975.0302). By 1928 the use of city names for the model names had declined. The Eclipse (1975.0295) is similar and may have been introduced around the time of a widely observed total solar eclipse that crossed parts of southern Canada in 1932.
