NORTEL NETWORKS CONNEXIONS Exhibition
opens at the
Canada Science and Technology Museum
Tuesday, July 1, 2003
Ottawa — This Canada Day, the Canada Science and Technology Museum is pleased to announce the opening of the Nortel Networks Connexions exhibition showcasing a new section on digital networks. The exhibition will open to the public on Tuesday, July 1, 2003.
Completing the communications story which began with the early days of the telegraph, this new section features a two story walk-through digital network, a zip ride demonstrating point-to-point wireless communication, videos, computer games and artifacts. Visitors will explore how the field of communications is evolving at a rapid pace through a highly interactive and informative exhibition on the history and technology of digital communications and its impact on our everyday lives.
In addition to the digital networks feature, the exhibition has been renamed to reflect its Title Sponsor: Nortel Networks. A global innovator in communications technology and Canada's R&D leader, Nortel Networks collaborated with the Museum in the development of a new segment on digital networks. Reflective of Nortel's original Digital World vision, and enhanced by the Canada Science and Technology Museum's extensive curatorial expertise and artifact collection, the digital networks component is an outstanding new feature that is as informative as it is interactive.
A permanent addition to the Museum, the Nortel Networks Connexions exhibition, including the new digital networks area, will open to the public on Canada Day, July 1, 2003 and will be included with regular Museum admission.
Offering a number of temporary and permanent exhibitions, and interactive displays the Museum offers a glimpse into Canada's rich science and technology heritage. Main exhibition halls and displays are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and are included with regular Museum admission. The Canada Science and Technology Museum is located at 1867 St. Laurent Boulevard and offers free parking on-site.
